1. The truth is that there are no different distributions of Windows 7. There is just 1 DVD which contains all versions. There is a file on the DVD which define the version to install. thats it...
2. Why do you need the Ultimate version if you need media center? Media Center is available on 32 and 64 versions from Home Premium - and is working just fine. From media center point of view - there is no need for anything more than 7 home premium.
3. If you use win 7 at home and not connected to corporate network, why at all do you need more than the professional version? Anything more than professional has nothing to do with home users...
So, MegaMPG was great on Vista and you may check it for Win 7 home premium. If it will work there - it will work on any other version without any problem. Media Center without MegaEPG is not good - as guide is loading, but keep same program over all day long for many channels...
The questions are mostly bureaucratic so I'd have the simple answer for most of them: I need the Ulitmate version cause I have to check the MegaEPG with different MUIs and thus had the ultimate Vista version. I don't want to buy home premium "just for a check" and then buy the ultimate one. When I had all the versions as a MSDN subscriber that wasn't an issue, but spending my own money for that would me way too much.
Anyways, the problem has been solved, I already have my Win7 ultimate versions.
I thought someone posted a comment here (please see above comments) a few months ago about them being an owner a company and thus can sell you an Ultimate Version EN or Heb from their site license.
Why keep waiting if you have a solution in your hands since November? What's the purpose?
